Pokemon X/Y

Post by True Hero on Mon Apr 08, 2013 10:47 am

This thread is all about the beginning of Pokemon's Gen. 6, X and Y. Discuss such pressing matters as: Which version will you get? Who's your favorite starter so far? What do you think so far? All this and any other speculation you might have. I've even posted links to the trailers and teasers. Enjoy!

I think I need to beat Black before I can even think about getting this, my 3 and a half hours on it is just embarrassing.

Yvetyl, froakie, and the overworld looks hideous. The battles themselves look gorgeous however, and the new 'mon designs look sooooooooooo much better than gen 5's "hey, if we put a face on it it's a poogeymanz!" "Give this man the Nobel prize!" approach. thinking

I'm so excited! Better be downloadable...
3D is looking great, and we can all probably agree that the battles are indeed amazing. This is also a good push for a new generation to duke out on a new Battle Revolution / Stadium, too, IMO. Hope the music is good.

I'll picking up Y, hopefully download, and continuing my streak of Fire Starters, although I might restart until I get a female starter.

@Knuckles- Not sure if you were already intending this, but when it comes to starters there's an 87.5% chance of them being male, leaving only 12.5 for females. A Poke'maniac at his finest >.<

I'm considering a Shiny run. All 8 Gym Badges would be shiny, and a shiny party, and maybe starter. Of course, that would be after my first run through. And Impossible. Razz

Why do you want a female starter? You can just ditto breed until you get one later on and save yourself a few hours. My dittos always get around a lot. Wink
@Clay Why is that even a challenge? It's purely based on luck, and there's ^no difficulty added to the gameplay.

@Happy_Mask I just think that the starting form of this fox looks more feminine than masculine. I'll have to see the final evolution first before I make up my mind.

I'm either choosing Chespin or Fennekin.
I don't know why people say Fennekin and Chespin are horrible when Froakie is the horrible one. Razz

Froakie is my pick, breaking my fire starters only trend. He is like a cloud, frog pokèmon.

I'm picking up Fennekin as my starter in X and Chespin in Y. Downloading X, buying Y at a retail; downloading X so I won't lose it (;___; ), and that's where I'll keep my teams for competitive battling along with VGC '14, and Y will be for challenge playthroughs :3
Shiny playthroughs are just simply not fun. When I do challenges I usually do Monotypes, although I'm looking forward to trying out a Nuzlocke.

We've got new X and Y info today!
For starters, there's some awesome pictures that really breath atmosphere into the Kalos region.
A closer look at a few of the new Pokemon are also provided. It appears you can ride some of them.
Not only that, but there's a new gameplay video. Nothing earth-shattering here, but it does look like the graphical presentation has improved. Also, the new Pokemon are shown in battle.

See it all here at Nintendo Life.

"Why is the forum of Froakie less?"
At least @Clay has some taste. /me sends Clay brofist over the Internet.
I'll be getting Y because Yveltal looks great, and Y is the manly man chromosome. And besides, Y not?
