The Beautiful Cube
This is the thread where you speak only of the best Nintendo home console (because this is the Internet and nobody has a different opinion than me). The Gamecube had some of the best entries in (big) Nintendo series' to date and while third party support was not very frequent due to the rise of the FPS, the Gamecube got some scattered, but ultimately quite good third party games.
Gamecube Hits you've heard of:
Luigi's Mansion
Super Smash Brothers Melee
Mario Party (series)
Super Mario Sunshine
The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker
Animal Crossing (Remake of Japanese N64 game)
Pikmin (series)
Metroid Prime (series)
Pokémon Colosseum (series)
Starfox (my most hated game of all time ever, past 06) Adventures(series)
Donkey Kong:Jungle Beat
Custom Robo:Battle Revolution(Oh wait, nobody remembers that series but me )
Fire Emblem:Path of Radiance
3rd Party
Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes(Remake of Ps1 title)
Sonic Adventure (series) (remake of Dreamcast games)
Spongebob:Battle for Bikini Bottom
Other games that nobody really remembers
Discuss!

Re: The Beautiful Cube
The Cube doesn't have a Kid Icarus title, therefore, it is bad.
Anyways, I JUST got a GCN Controller and Memory Card about half an hour ago, so I'll be buying some games off eBay soon!

You do know that's a crime right Clay?
I do love my Cube even though the Wii surpassed it for me. Some people may hate it, but Super Mario Sunshine was such a huge part of my childhood and I love everything about it.

Ah yes, the GameCube. I've been meaning to make a NL thread but didn't know what to start off with. This will do I guess. I had no idea there was a Fire Emblem game for the Cube. Does anyone know if its any good?

Re: The Beautiful Cube
Anyone with a gamecube, quick boot it up with a controller inserted, and hold Z. You'll thank me later.
Also Master Hand Player 3 glitch for the win!

Even better, hold Z on four controllers at once while you boot up.Knuckles wrote:Anyone with a gamecube, quick boot it up with a controller inserted, and hold Z. You'll thank me later.

Re: The Beautiful Cube
Of course! I've played through it a ton of times to get all the bonus characters for the trial maps! But yes, it's quite good, especially as the game before RD. Just don't expect too many mechanics from awakening, as it threw a lot more stuff into the series.Pikminsi wrote:Ah yes, the GameCube. Re: The Beautiful Cube
I was considering a purchase until I realized the only copy in stock is $160! Yikes.Happy_Mask wrote:Of course! Edit: I found a $60 price for one but I'm still going to pass for now. I'd rather just purchase Awakening for my 3DS XL (my brother has it on his 3DS but I doubt he'll let me play on it too much)

I broke out the ole copy of spiderman 2 the other day, and remembered just how lousy Peter Parker's life is.

I did not know that it was a N64 game in Japan. I must rectify this posthaste, and add it to my book of useless animal crossing information.Happy_Mask wrote:

Re: The Beautiful Cube
Did anyone else know that the Gamecube was codenamed Dolphin? Just a fact I've known for 2-4 years now.
Re: The Beautiful Cube
That is also why Captain Olimar's ship is named the S.S. Dolphin.Knuckles wrote:Did anyone else know that the Gamecube was codenamed Dolphin? Just a fact I've known for 2-4 years now.
Re: The Beautiful Cube
How are the Gamecube Star Fox games? I've only played Star Fox 64.

Re: The Beautiful Cube
To the dolphins- One of the first examples of the gamecube was in Donkey Kong 64. If you look around the DK Hut, there is a Dolphin photo on the wall, which to gamers meant nothing at the time, but the devs were foreshadowing the next generation.
@Clay it use to just be called animal forest, but it was highly successful in japan, so they made either an enhanced port or a remake. The features added include Aaaaaaaaall the many NES titles available in the game, and removing some Japanese cultural references most American players may not understand.
@Pikminsi StarFox Assault provides a rather quick but well controlled experience I may recommend to lovers of 64 and the original, and StarFox Adventures is more evil than you can ever imagine, and it holds the place of my most hated game ever. Both of these games broke my 2 wiis on separate occasions, so I'm somewhat biased, but I still recommend Assault.

Re: The Beautiful Cube
@Happy Would I need to play Adventures to understand the story or would I be fine just playing Assault?

Re: The Beautiful Cube
You might not understand the implications of one mission, but other than that, it's pretty separate from adventures,
