Super Smash Bros. U Thread of Speculation, Praying, and Discussion

Who cannot wait for this? The chance for Luigi to smack Mario with a bat, in HD is almost (not really) upon us!

As of right now, since it's coming out on 3DS AND Wii U, so it's commonly known as SSB4.

Yes, but they could/will be different in multiple ways. Like Sonic Colors. This is to discuss the HD one. They are at least almost guaranteed to be different in control, graphics and maybe even in other ways.

Wow, this is the largest amount of consecutive posts not concerning characters and stages in a Smash Bros thread.

I've just felt kinda crabby today. I need to get more sleep badly >.< but I'll probably still stay up for a few more hours, reading...

Anyway, I hope more melee stages come back in this one! Because Melee rocked. Of course Brawl had some good ones too.

I'll most likely pass on this version and grab the 3DS one. The controls will be much more to my aesthetics :3

As I have a 3DS and a Wii U, I will in all likelihood get both. Anyways, here are some of my wants/predictions:
Ridley, Waluigi, Ghirahim, Possible Pikmin 3 character, Bowser Jr., Shadow the Freakin' Hedgehog.
Whoops, that last one was supposed to stay in the thought bubble.

Praying for MH3U style connectivity.

You know what would be cool? Online Leaderboards. And you would face people close to you on Random Matchup.

I cannot wait to see what this new Smash Bros. will be like. When it comes out, we can start a thread for matches, and it will be hard(er) to go off topic because there will be so many video game characters in it.
Another important question: Will the new game's main theme be able to beat Brawl's? Brawl's theme was really good imo.

@Ideal Yeah, I hope that the story isn't just a sequel to the Subspace one, because that would be lazy.

It'd also be nice if characters like Sonic got a more prominent role in the story this time. There's a lot of potential for interesting interactions between the likes of Mario and Sonic.
I know it's probably a pipe dream, but wouldn't it be cool if the story mode had voice acting this time?

Whoops. I should have made myself more clear. I was talking about Brawl's main theme song. It was a really good song to me and a hard act to follow.
But as you were saying, I hope the story mode is cool, new, and fresh.
As a side note, I've thought that Palutena, Medusa, Thanatos, Hades, or any other Uprising characters would make hamazing possible additions to SSBU.

@Ideal I can definitely see Medusa as an assist trophy, and a few others. :3 And Pit will at the very least get a Pittoo coloring.
@True Eh, then they would need voice actors from many, many, many series. Even Lucas and Ness. And Link wouldn't do very much then. D:
One thing I was thinking is it would be cool if they added a Tourny online mode, that could be run by players and by them. So some official tournaments with thousands of people (run like a Pokemon tournament, not bracket style) and some run by people by us. :3

...he has Pittoo coloring in Brawl.

@Dash Yeah, at the very least he will have that. Then he might have more than that, or even a Pittoo trophy or something. :3

I couldn't see it after Mega Man was announced, but I heard Animal Crossing is in it. Considering how I played 7 hours today, and will keep playing, I can't wait for this!
Ironically, I heard of AC characters through ACNL.

Mega looks amazing, and they even chose the version I wanted the most, his classic form.

The Animal Crossing Villager was also great, and if you could wear different costumes from the game, then that would be swell (I'd rather have Tom Nook from the Animal Crossing series, but Villager still good)
