3D Sonic the Hedgehog 1 Genesis Remake Announced.
After twenty-one years, Sonic is finally getting a 3D remake of his debut adventure. This 3D Classic is the 3rd and possibly second to last entry in SEGA's 3D Classic series, none of which have left Japan at the time of this writing.
Interestingly, SEGA has added the Spin Dash to Sonic's repertoire, meaning fans can now dash amongst the levels however much their little heart’s desire. Why is this important one asks? The Spin Dash originated in Sonic 2 and now can be used regularly in Sonic 1. Don't fret Sonic fans, this is an optional move, and can be turned off.
A level select has , been added to this remake, which previously had to be unlocked with a code, and a suspend state for stop and go gaming (or cheating on Chaos Emerald Stages, but who would do that?). Fans who played the game on the original on a tube television can relive their nostalgic memories in a mode designed to imitate the "tube" graphics. This is optional, just like the spin dash.
One last difference to the game is that both the Japanese and English versions of the game are playable in the remake, with the former being the actual release, and the latter being a pre-release version, with minor differences from the final product.
The game will be released in Japan on May 15th for 600 Yen, with no western release date being set as of this writing.

3D Sonic the Hedgehog 1 Genesis Remake Announced. :: Comments
Finally got the kinks out of my computer, and finished the article!
Sounds great!
By the way, just mentioning, we don't want this to turn into a news forum (although some like this is fine). :3 So while this is okay, we should try to create a discussion or make a point on top of a thing like this. :3
But this is excellent news!

DO WANT!
I can't wait for this to reach NA. I've played it before, but not only was it a great game worth buying again, this re-release sounds heavenly!
